Mary Elizabeth Donaldson, born on February 5th 1972 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia and Crown Prince Frederik, the heir apparent to the Danish throne got married on May 14th 2004 at the Copenhagen cathedral Vor Frue Kirke.
The bridesmaids
Mary and Frederik met for the first time on 16 September 2000 during the Olympic games in Sydney. Mary met her future mother-in-law, Queen Margrethe, in April 2002.
The engagement was announced October 8th 2003.
