ENGAGEMENT of Princess Madeleine of Sweden to Jonas Bergström

After His Majesty The King of Sweden had given his consent to the marriage between 

Princess Madeleine and Mr Jonas Bergstöm, 

HM the King in accordance with the Constitution, requested government consent. The date of the wedding has yet to be decided.onsent. The date of the wedding has yet to be decided.

Press Release 2010-04-26: Princess Madeleine and Mr Jonas Bergström to separate. After careful consideration, Princess Madeleine and Mr Jonas Bergström have made a joint decision to separate. They have come to the conclusion that a separation is the best course of action for them both. Princess Madeleine and Mr Jonas Bergström would like to appeal to the media to show respect and consideration in light of their decision. 

They now need some peace and privacy during this difficult time. The excessive level of media coverage is not helping their situation. We would ask for understanding in respect of the decision not to release any further statements.

ENGAGEMENT of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Daniel Westling

Today, Tuesday 24 February 2009, the engagement between  Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria and Mr. Daniel Westling  was announced. In connection with the wedding Mr. Westling will be invested with the title Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland. The question of residence for the Crown Princess and her future consort is subject to further consideration. Some different alternatives are being examined.  The wedding is planned to take place in the early summer of 2010.
