ENGAGEMENT of Princess Madeleine of Sweden to Christopher O´Neill

After His Majesty The King of Sweden had given his consent to the marriage between  

Princess Madeleine and 

Mr Christopher O'Neill, 

His Majesty requested the approval by the Swedish Government, in accordance with the procedures set out in the Swedish Constitution.

ENGAGEMENT of HRH Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg to Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy

Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, have the great joy to announce the engagement of their son, 

HRH Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke (b.11 November 1981, oldest of five children of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg (b.1955) & his wife Maria Teresa, nee Mestre y Batista (b.1956); 

and the Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy (b.1984), youngest of eight children of Count Philippe de Lannoy (b.1922) & his wife Alix, nee dela Faille de Leverghem (b.1941). 

The wedding will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2012.

ENGAGEMENT of HRH Prince William of Wales to Catherine Middleton

The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.

The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

Prince William and Miss Middleton became engaged in October during a private holiday in Kenya. Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton’s father.

Following the marriage, the couple will live in North Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.

Press Release 2010-04-26: Princess Madeleine and Mr Jonas Bergström to separate. After careful consideration, Princess Madeleine and Mr Jonas Bergström have made a joint decision to separate. They have come to the conclusion that a separation is the best course of action for them both. Princess Madeleine and Mr Jonas Bergström would like to appeal to the media to show respect and consideration in light of their decision. 

They now need some peace and privacy during this difficult time. The excessive level of media coverage is not helping their situation. We would ask for understanding in respect of the decision not to release any further statements.

ENGAGEMENT of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Daniel Westling

Today, Tuesday 24 February 2009, the engagement between  Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria and Mr. Daniel Westling  was announced. In connection with the wedding Mr. Westling will be invested with the title Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland. The question of residence for the Crown Princess and her future consort is subject to further consideration. Some different alternatives are being examined.  The wedding is planned to take place in the early summer of 2010.

Today, Wednesday 8 October 2003, the Council of State gathered at Amalienborg Palace, presided over by Her Majesty The Queen. Upon submission from the Prime Minister and in accordance with the Act of Succession of 1953, Her Majesty gave her consent to the marriage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Miss Mary Elizabeth Donaldson. 

The wedding will take place on Friday 14 May 2004.

At 18.00 hours on Friday, 30 March 2001, Her Majesty the Queen announced the engagement of His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange, Prince of the Netherlands, Prince of Orange-Nassau, Jonkheer Van Amsberg, and Ms Máxima Zorreguieta.

ENGAGEMENT of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway to Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby

Crown Prince Haakon met Miss Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby (b. 19th August 1973 in Kristiansand) briefly already four years ago through mutual friends, but it was not until the summer of 1999 that they really got to know each other. 

They became a couple in the autumn and the romance became publicly known at the end of that year. The Crown Prince himself confirmed the relationship in a TV interview in May 2000.
